Dinkum Farming: Crops, Seasons and Animal Care

Dinkum farming means planting crops, tending animals and selling harvests for Dinks. Steam says seasons and weather affect crop growth, so there is no evidence for a season-independent crop calendar here. Start with what your current seed and farm menus actually show.

01

Start a crop plot

Dinkum farming starts with growing crops on your island and caring for animals, not with a universal best-profit field layout. The publisher presents a farm as one of several ways to build a life, alongside fishing, gathering and decorating. A KRAFTON planting FAQ indexed during research says crops need a hoe from Rayne and seeds; it does not publish an all-crop calendar.

For tree and bush seeds, the same indexed answer describes digging a hole, dropping the seed into it and covering it with soil. We could not consistently retrieve the full page during this review, so treat those precise input steps as a limited indexed excerpt. Check the current game prompts before spending a rare seed.

02

Seasons, weather and harvests

Steam explicitly says changing seasons and weather affect how crops grow. The older Summer Sun update also introduced dynamic weather and a way to grow crops year-round. Those facts mean a single static planting schedule can be misleading unless it states both build and conditions.

KRAFTON says you can sell harvests to earn Dinks and use that income to develop the town. It does not state that one crop is always the best source of money. Compare harvests and the shop's actual offer in your current save rather than copying an unsourced price table.

03

Animals are part of the farm

The 1.0 patch added dirt and sickness states to farm animals. It says sick animals do not produce drops and names an Animal Brush and Animal Shower for maintaining cleanliness. This makes care part of the farm routine rather than a purely decorative activity.

Animal Tracks later introduced breeding and an Egg Incubator. Breeding needs a licence; fertilised eggs from rooster and hens can be incubated into a Baby Chook. These systems are separate from planting crops, but both affect what the farm produces.

04

Avoid fixed profit promises

The verified sources do not establish a current yield, seed cost or watering interval for every crop. Those numerical tables are 待确认. In particular, do not assume the growth calendar from one pre-update platform matches another.

Build a repeatable routine around the actual seeds, licences and animals your island has unlocked. Selling every harvest immediately may leave you short of materials for a recipe, so check your next intended use first. That is planning advice derived from the documented sell-and-build loop, not a published optimum.
