Dinkum Animals: Breeding, Care and New Wildlife

Dinkum animals include farm stock you care for and wildlife you encounter while exploring. Animal Tracks added breeding and a dedicated licence. The official notes say Animal Handling Licence level 3 or above lets you obtain the Animal Breeding Licence from Fletch.

The same update describes a pregnancy period of up to ten days for bred animals, followed by a birth in the pen. It also says there is a recovery interval after birth. Do not treat one observed animal's schedule as a fixed timer for every species or version.

The official announcement says a rooster with hens may produce Fertilised Chicken Eggs. These eggs are for selling or hatching, not cooking; an Egg Incubator produces a Baby Chook. The incubator recipe becomes available with Animal Breeding Licence level 1 or higher.

The 1.0 notes also changed animal cleanliness. Dirty or sick farm animals show different visual effects, and sick animals do not produce drops. The notes describe an Animal Brush sold at Irwin's Barn and a craftable Animal Shower as ways to manage care.

Animal Tracks added Rooster, Penguin, Vombull, Plunk and Boaricoot to its documented animal list. Its Domesti-Crate can capture and tame certain animals; the notes place it at Irwin's once you hold Trapping Licence level 2 or higher. These are named examples from a patch, not a complete encyclopedia.

The notes describe different behaviours: the Penguin cannot breed, while feeding it cooked fish yields a Pretty Pebble the next day. Vombull is found rarely in plains and Plunk near rivers, according to that update. Spawn guarantees and precise current-build odds remain 待确认.

The 2026 Switch update says it brought the Animal Tracks content to Switch, replacing older launch-era statements that it had not arrived. Another patch may change animal handling or locations later. Before following a detailed breeding chart, compare its version and platform with yours.
